PEARSON'S RECYCLING of Norfolk has ordered Europe's first Marathon two ram baler from 3r Environmental Technology.

The order is worth in excess of £250,000 for the machine, which is manufactured by the USA based Marathon Equipment company, a manufacturer of waste handling and recycling equipment.

3r is the sole UK agent for Marathon Equipment’s range of balers and compactors.

The two ram baler has a number of features which includes a multi-purpose door that serves as a bale separator to enable the user to switch products quickly, bale release to eject an oversize bale, bale clamp to form a square end on the next bale and bale sizer for various bale dimensions. The machine is said to be capable of baling 25-35 tonnes of recyclables per hour.

The 2 x 100hp motors with 12 main cylinders generate 220 tonnes of ram pressure helping to ensure high-density bales in excess of 850kg are produced.

According to the manufacturer, it is suitable for a number of applications including waste management and recycling companies and distributions centres.

Pearson’s Recycling, a UK independent waste management and recycling company, will use the machine for processing plastic, cardboard, plastic bottles, paper and aluminium cans.
